Lisa Watson joined Virginia Housing in 2019, bringing with her a broad background across public, private and nonprofit organizations. As Managing Director of Human Resources, she oversees the full spectrum of HR operations — from organizational development and talent strategies to employee relations, DEI efforts and change management. Her work is grounded in a simple guiding belief: when people thrive, organizations thrive.
In her role, Watson leads Virginia Housing’s HR strategy with a strong commitment to supporting associates and strengthening the culture. She brings clarity and care to complex workforce needs, ensuring teams have the guidance, resources and development opportunities to grow and succeed. Her leadership approach centers on listening, partnership and building systems that help people thrive.
Watson’s background in mediation, employee relations and organizational development reflects her dedication to creating supportive environments where individuals feel valued and empowered. She holds degrees in law, business and the arts, along with a SHRM‑SCP certification. Outside of work, she remains active in her community through Toastmasters and is well‑known for her enthusiastic support of the Ohio State Buckeyes.
