Michael Urban, Managing Director of Homeownership, joined Virginia Housing in 2018 and has over 20 years of mortgage experience including time in the private sector and federal government. In his current role, Urban sets strategic goals for the homeownership division, ensuring loan programs are available to meet the needs of first-time homebuyers along with providing resources to help borrowers stay in their home.
Prior to joining Virginia Housing, Urban worked as the Single-Family Housing Program Director with the U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development, where he oversaw the Single-Family Housing Direct and Guaranteed Loan Programs in Virginia, Vermont and New Hampshire. He also previously worked at Wells Fargo as a Loan Officer, Wholesale Account Executive and Wholesale Area Manager.
Urban is a graduate of Louisiana State University and has worked and traveled all over the country.
