Virginia Housing Receives 2023 Top Virginia Employers for Interns Award

In commemoration of Virginia Intern Day, The Virginia Talent + Opportunity Partnership (VTOP) has recognized Virginia Housing as a recipient of the 2023 Top Virginia Employers for Interns Award. This annual award recognizes 100 employers throughout the Commonwealth who provide high-quality internships to students.


The Virginia Housing Internship Program has been recognized by VTOP due to program offerings such as exposure to senior leadership, structured mentorship programs, training for industry certifications, professional development, diverse hiring practices, and competitive hourly rates. Nine year-round internship positions are offered throughout various departments within the organization, with an average tenure of up to two years.


“Our internship program is one way we prioritize supporting the next generation of leaders in affordable housing who will help contribute to our mission and the communities in which they serve,” said Susan Dewey, Chief Executive Officer at Virginia Housing.


V-TOP is administered by the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia in partnership with the Virginia Chamber of Commerce Foundation and the Virginia Business Higher Education Council. It is funded by the General Assembly’s Commonwealth Innovative Internship Fund and Program.
